Nagaland registered a commanding 114-run victory over Sikkim in their group stage fixture of the 1st NE Little Masters Trophy 2025, held at the ACA Stadium Ground, Barsapara, Guwahati.
A press release by Ajungla Ozukum, Media, NCA stated that a steady batting performance backed by a clinical bowling effort saw Nagaland earn their first win in style.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Nagaland posted a solid 172/7 in 40 overs. Sangtsulen Tshunherii anchored the innings with a patient 38 off 103 balls, supported by Ayan Shaikh, who chipped in with 22 runs off 32 balls. Sikkim’s Raunak Yadav was the standout with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 21 runs in 8 overs, keeping the pressure on Nagaland throughout the innings.
Chasing 173, Sikkim crumbled under tight bowling from Nagaland and were bowled out for just 58 runs in 19 overs. Raunak Yadav remained unbeaten with 17 off 49 balls*, but lacked support from the rest of the line-up. Nagaland’s bowlers dominated the innings.
Yuhemba picked up 4 wickets for 26 runs in 6 overs, while Eric Rupreo delivered a tight spell of 2/6 in 5 overs, dismantling Sikkim’s middle order and earning him the Player of the Match award.
