Construction of new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex in Wokha is set to commence within the current financial year, officials from the Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) confirmed during an inspection visit to the project site on April 30.

Assistant Chief Engineer, CAWD, Er. Sungtiba Amer, who led the inspection, informed that the project was recently approved by the State Level Project Implementation and Manage-ment Committee (SLPIMC) and falls under the State Earmarked Projects category.

The proposed complex will feature a G+1 structure with two basement floors, consolidating various administrative departments under one roof to enhance coordination and governance.

Er. Amer said that the new complex is a vital step toward administrative development in the district, and work on the project would officially begin within this financial year.

The inspection team also visited the ongoing DC Office Complex construction site in Tseminyu, a project sanctioned under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. The officials acknowledged that initial site allocation issues had delayed construction, but the project was now progressing steadily.

The Tseminyu DC Office will be a G+2 RCC structure, featuring: 150-seater conference hall, accessible facilities for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and provisions for an elevator.
The team also reviewed ongoing construction for: VVPAT strong room of the Election De-partment and flat-type quarters for administrative officers in Tseminyu.

Expressing gratitude to the state government and Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, Er. Amer acknowledged the sanctioning of key infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening adminis-trative operations. He also voiced optimism that timely project completion would facilitate smoother governance in the respective districts.
