East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has appealed to the authorities to arrest the accused, involved in the assault of a woman at a Bakery at Jorapukhur Ward 3, Purana Bazar, East Dimapur on April 16.
EDTC demanded that the accused must be dealt strictly under the law to serve justice and prevent similar incidents in the future. The council made the appeal after a coordination meeting on April 29, 2025, to deliberate on the assault case.
The meeting was attended by Gaon Buras (GBs), colony chairmen, secretaries, the East Dimapur Tribal Council, and elders, focused on ensuring justice and maintaining peace, safety, and accountability.
Meanwhile, East Dimapur Town Council and all participating organizations strongly condemned violence in any form, particularly against women. The council reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and justice within the community, urging swift action to uphold safety standards for all residents.
