Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) in a statement, has clarified that it was not involved nor has consented to be part of the upcoming event, “Common Platform for Resolving Indo-Naga Political Issue,” scheduled for May 14 at Agri Expo, Dimapur.
Acknowledging that the quest for Nagas to come together was clearly undisputed and needed careful and thoughtful steering, FNR stressed that the virtuous work needed the support of every Naga organisation and some more time was needed.
FNR said since January 14, nine rounds of discussions have already taken place between Naga Political Groups and Naga tribal hohos, centering on “Historical and political rights of the Nagas.” “We are in the midst of a process and we have reached a sensitive point, which needs some more time. More meetings are on the schedule,” the forum stated.
FNR said all Nagas must come together and no one should be left out, calling for understanding each other’s difficulties and to be more patient. FNR stressed that what had been garnered with much toil must not be allowed to slip by, adding that one core conviction was clear that doors must be kept open for the future. The forum, along with the NPGs and tribal hohos, wished all to honour the “Covenant of Reconciliation.”
