
Peren District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) convened a monsoon preparedness-cum-quarterly meeting under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner and DDMA chairman Hiazu Meru at the DC’s Conference Hall, Peren on May 5, 2025.
According to DIPR report, the meeting focused on assessing the district’s readiness for monsoon-related challenges and identifying areas requiring improvement.
The DC emphasized the importance of coordinated preparedness among various departments, agencies, and companies, stressing that every entity has a crucial role in managing emergencies.
Meru urged active involvement and intervention from stakeholders in responding to monsoon-related disasters, highlighting the need for collective efforts. He advised the Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) department to ensure adequate stocking of essential commodities, while the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Peren was directed to maintain sufficient medical supplies for timely health responses.
Other departments were also instructed to remain vigilant and prepared for any eventualities during the monsoon season.
