The Somdal national workers of NSCN (I-M) during a consultative meeting with ato kilonser and chief political negotiator Th Muivah held at the latter’s Wungram Colony residence here on April 29 resolved to carry forward “Nagalim national struggle” based on the national foundation and legacy laid down by him to the last, come what may.

Recognising and acknowledging his commitment and sacrifices to the Nagalim national cause, the members present at the meeting also noted that his leadership had contributed colossally to the Nagalim national movement.

They concluded that Muivah had consolidated Nagalim political foundation in defending Nagalim’s unique history and sovereignty by condemning the betrayed 1975 Shillong Accord, acknowledging that the subsequent formation of the NSCN in 1980 was in defence of Nagalim’s unique history and sovereignty.

They said that the Indo-Naga political dialogue that started on August 1, 1997 recognised and acknowledged that Nagalim was not an internal matter of India or Burma (Myanmar), adding that the political dialogue began with due recognition and acknowledgement of Nagalim sovereignty as the talks began at the Prime Minister’s level without pre-condition and outside India in a third country.

They were of the opinion that with the signing of the Amsterdam joint communiqué of July 11, 2002 by the central government and NSCN, New Delhi had officially recognised and acknowledged the unique history and situation of Nagalim, admitting that Nagalim was never a part of India or Burma (Myanmar).

Hence, the Amsterdam joint communiqué officially admitted Nagalim sovereignty. The Somdal national workers also deeply appreciated former NSCN (I-M) chairman late Isak Chishi Swu and Muivah for having signed the Framework Agreement on the foundation of recognition and acknowledgement of Nagalim’s unique history and sovereignty.

And since sovereignty represented and constituted identity, they said the letter and spirit of the Framework Agreement officially recognised and acknowledged the sovereign Nagalim national flag and sovereign Nagalim national constitution.

Hence, they deeply appreciated and thanked Muivah for having consolidated and defended Nagalim and the Naga people’s mandate on Nagalim unique history and sovereignty.

The resolutions were agreed and endorsed by all Somdal national workers of the NSCN (I-M) wherever they were, and the resolution was signed on their behalf by the convener and secretary of the Somdal national workers.
