A one-day seminar on “Trending Social Issues”, focusing on mental health and homosexuality, was held at Impur on May 6. Organized by ABAM Social Concern for participants from ABAM Zone 1-7, the event aimed to raise awareness and foster meaningful discussions on these pressing topics.
The seminar emphasized the Church’s vital role in guiding individuals and providing support through its full-time staff, who play a crucial part in community care. Recognizing the significance of their contribution, the event served as an opportunity to enhance their skills and broaden their impact.
Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology and Counselling at St. Joseph University, Dr. Watinaro Longkümer, was the resource person, delivering expert insights to empower attendees with knowledge and practical guidance on these issues.
A total of 175 full-time workers from 58 churches participated in the seminar, reinforcing their commitment to service, learning, and community well-being.
