Nokpangmenla (Amenla) Chingwang, wife of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) president and People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) convenor, Chingwang Konyak, passed away in Guwahati on Thursday.
State chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and others joined in mourning the passing of Amenla, wife of Chingwang Konyak. In a condolence message, Dr.Rio described late Amenla as “a woman of grace, warmth, and unwavering faith”, who touched countless lives through her humility, kindness, and compassion.
“As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a steadfast pillar of strength for her family – radiating love and resilience in both times of joy and hardship,” the chief minister said.
Dr. Rio also said that her deep reverence for God was evident in the values she instilled in her children -teaching them to lead lives rooted in humility, empathy, and integrity. “She stood by my dear friend and colleague, Mr. Chingwang Konyak, with quiet strength and unwavering support throughout his distinguished public service career spanning over five decades,” Dr. Rio said, adding she was truly his pillar of strength.
The chief minister stated that though her absence leaves an irreplaceable void, “we take comfort in celebrating her remarkable life and giving thanks for the blessing of having known her. “
Dr. Rio extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty grant them strength, comfort, and peace in this time of sorrow.
Zeliang: State deputy chief minister TR Zeliang expressed deep grief over the passing of Mrs. Amenla.
In a condolence message, Zeliang said a pillar of strength and support, late Amenla was the foundation upon which Chingwang Konyak thrived throughout his long and distinguished political career.
Describing her as a graceful and dignified soul, the deputy chief minister said her presence touched not only her family but also all who had the privilege of knowing her, directly or indirectly.
“Her absence will be greatly felt,” Zeliang said, adding in her demise she left behind a huge vacuum which would be difficult to fill, not just in the life of her husband and children but in the lives of many for whom she was a motherly figure and a source of inspiration.
Zeliang extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family and all her near and dear ones during this time of sorrow. He also prayed that the Almighty grant them strength and solace to bear this loss.
Patton: State deputy chief minister Y. Patton also expressed deep pain over the demise of Amenla, wife of Chingwang Konyak.
In a condolence message, Patton said late Amenla was an active Ssocial worker and an activist for women in particular, while balancing family life and fulfilling other obligations.
He said that late Amnela stood behind her husband’s successful political journey for more than five decades with perseverance.
The deputy chief minister stated that the Konyak people and the Naga society has lost a matriarch which would be truly felt. Patton, along with the state BJP legislators, extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
