The National Oral Health Programme (NOHP), IMDH Mokokchung, conducted a free oral cancer screening for MMC sanitation workers on May 8 at the MMC Conference Hall.
MMC councillor and health incharge, Taliyangshi, expressed gratitude to the Health department for initiating the screening, describing it a blessing for the community.
He also emphasized the need for such programs to continue.
Speaking at the event, IMDH Mokokchung Dental Surgeon, Dr. Keneitheja, highlighted the importance of early detection in saving lives and preventing the severity of oral cancer.
The event concluded with free oral check-ups for sanitation workers, along with the distribution of oral hygiene kits containing toothpaste, toothbrushes, and medicines.
The initiative reaffirmed the commitment to public health and preventive care, ensuring access to essential healthcare for workers.
