Where is Nagas leading to?
Very soon Nagas will be controlled by outsiders / Non Nagas politically and economically. No Nagas want others to rule them but the system we allowed, the silence we remain and not want to fight our rights , greed for material gain, popularity and fame is soon going to pay us heavily.We want riches, facilities, fame and power not our rights, not our future. We Nagas are not able to protect our constitutional rights – the right of natural resources, customary laws, religious rights and other political rights of Inner- line Permit. When we have constitutional and political rights permitted by the Govt. of India, why reluctant to implement/ enforce ? Constitution is Supreme above all the courts of India.
Therefore, the law makers and authorities are urged to be serious of our Naga’s rights and protect the future.NGOs also have the right to fight the rights of Nagas . A collective effort is required to safeguard the Naga’s legitimate rights. Hohos and student body may be allowed to help Govt. for checking the Inner line Permit besides Village authorities, Ward incharges in urban towns.Checking for Inner line permit is not to chase out non Nagas but to safeguard Nagas. In turn it help Govt. to identify the person’s residential address and check foreign immigrants. Most importantly , it easily identifies the person when committed crime and fled.
Unless the Naga leaders, intellectuals, Naga patriots and concerned Naga publics wake up and fight Naga’s right , within two or three decades we will be dominated by non Nagas and ruled and by that time it will be too late to cry. So now is the right time that every Naga by blood should be serious of our political and economic rights and act on it.
Further, our slogan on Nagaland for Christ need to be manifested in our actions. Nagaland for Christ is about the government run by Christians ( 60 MLAs Naga Christians) to govern the state in the principle of Christianity. It is also about the application of Christian principle in political movement for Naga solution.
Most painful condition now is the lingering of Naga political solution due to disunity a mong the Nagas.Most Naga leaders don’t want to humble but to show his might/right. Don’t bother about who sacrifice all his might for the cause of Nagas. No respect for the good cause done . Naga leaders need to change mindset. Respect the sacrifice made, good works done for the Nagas. Forget the past rancour, forgive each other and humble oneself and come together to resolve the Naga issue. Naga public are waiting for peaceful solution.
