The prestigious Late John Angami Award 2025 was conferred on two outstanding students of John Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Viswema, Kevirazo Lese and Seyiekienuo Yongo, for their exceptional performance in the HSSLC and HSLC examinations. The felicitation ceremony was held on Friday at the school premises.
Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, chairman of the Nagaland Pollution Control Board, Rusovil John, and a family member of Late John Angami, commended the students for their achievements.
In his address, he urged them to aspire for allied services, emphasizing that such careers would significantly contribute to community development and state progress.
Encouraging students to remain focused and committed to their education, he stated, “Be wholly focused on your studies to gain knowledge and expertise for employability, livelihood, and sustainability.” He advised them to prioritize hard work, curiosity, and a competitive spirit, cautioning against distractions.
John also called upon teachers to go beyond their formal duties, mentoring students with extra care to help shape them into successful and responsible individuals. He further urged Grade IV staff to actively safeguard school assets and extend full cooperation to the administration.
The Chairman of Viswema Village Council, Tepul Neikha, presented the awardees with certificates and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/- each, recognizing their academic excellence. He also led the closing prayer, marking the end of the ceremony.
The event was chaired by Vice Principal of John GHSS, Dr. Visielie, while PGT Visenu Naleo led the invocation prayer. The Principal of John GHSS, Kedanye Thong, delivered the vote of thanks.
