Performance Incentive Grants (PIG), one of the interventions of Nagaland Education Project—The Lighthouse (NECTAR), has been awarded the “CIPS Innovation Award 2024” in the education sector.

In a statement, NECTAR stated that the awarding body, the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS), Hyderabad, was an autonomous center of the Administrative Staff College of India, established by the Government of India.

As a national body, it said the mission of CIPS was “to help create and nurture a climate for accelerating and diffusing innovations in public systems.”
To accomplish this mission, CIPS honours the best innovative practices by scouting and spawning new innovations that would bring about positive changes in the culture as well as structure of governance across states.

Through the PIG, a total of 1,914 School Management Committees (SMCs) and School Management and Development Committees (SMDCs) have received capacity-building support across Nagaland. With the active participation of the SMCs and SMDCs along with the selfless contributions of the communities, the NEXTAR said PIG was successfully improving the learning environments of Government schools and enhancing the sense of ownership and responsibility among the community.

It said that cooperation and inputs from the community leaders and members have been instrumental in driving the progress. NECTAR has appreciated all the SMCs and SMDCs for their dedication and looked forward to their continued partnership in the days to come.
