A three-day training programme on ‘Waste to Wealth’ was conducted at Town Hall, Tuensang, aimed at transforming waste into valuable resources from May 7 to 9, 2025.
According to DIPR report, the initiative was led by district administration Tuensang in collaboration with Tuensang Town Council, Swachh Bharat Mission, Urban Development Department, PHED, Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS), and Gwizan Organics & Technologies as the training partner.
The programme commenced on May 7, chaired by ADC and administrator of Tuensang Town Council, Shelley Katiry, with a keynote address by DC Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa.
Presentations on e-waste disposal and waste-to-wealth strategies were delivered by Bendangwala Walling (E-Circle, Dimapur) and Rokobikho Savino (MD, Gwizan Organics & Technologies).
The first day focused on waste segregation, environmental impact, and household-level waste management. The second day covered practical approaches to waste conversion, including employment opportunities, manure production, and agricultural benefits.
