Western Yimkhiung Hoho and Sangphur Village Council (SVC) have, through separate statements, vehemently condemned the alleged murder of late Yansomong Yimkhiung, resident of Sangphur village under Shamator district, whose body was in Mariani-Titabor railway track on May 8, 2025.
WYH through its media cell stated that late Yansomong, at the time of his demise, was working under Vodafone telecom company and left for a supposed training on the May 5, 2025 from Mokokchung at 2pm accompanied by some of his staff members till Amguri station. After reaching Amguri station, WYH said he was scheduled to leave for Guwahatti at 5pm on the same day.
However, the hoho said his dead body was recovered at Mariani-Titabor railway track under questionable circumstances May 8, 2025.
WYH has, therefore, appealed to the responsible authority to initiate prompt investigation and apprehend those involved at the earliest. Asserting “justice delayed is justice denied”, WYH demanded that the perpetrators be awarded befitting punishment as per the law.
The hoho also called upon every right-thinking citizen to condemn the “brutal act”, which it said had no place in a civilized society.
SVC: Expressing outrage over the alleged murder of Yansomong, Sangphur Village Council (SVC) said late Yansomong was staying at Mokokchung town with his wife and son for couple of years and was working in Vodafone Telecom Company.
In a statement, SVC chairman K Rhakiumong and secretary K Keoshu said that “this heinous act of violence” shocked and horrified the community and Naga as a whole leaving them heartbroken and filled with grief.
Therefore, SVC has urged the government and law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible were brought to book under relevant sections of law and provide justice to the deceased family and community as a whole.
