In a bid to promote renewable energy, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Sunbird Trust, distributed 56 solar street lights across villages in Mon and Tuensang districts.
The initiative benefited Tanhai, Totak Chingnyu, and Longmein villages in Mon district, along with Chungotore, FIC (Angangba), and Sangsomong villages in Tuensang district.
A combined team visited the villages to distribute the lights and educate residents on installation, maintenance, and usage. The solar lights will provide reliable and eco-friendly illumination, improving living conditions for over 3,809 residents in these remote areas.
The effort underscores Assam Rifles’ commitment to community development, ensuring better access to sustainable energy solutions.
