The 2nd Coordination Meeting of the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) for the 8th Economic Census (EC) was convened on May 14 at the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the DLCC, Longleng, W. Manpai Phom.

In his address, the Chairman emphasized the critical role of line departments and DLCC members in ensuring the smooth and effective execution of the 8th Economic Census across the district.

He highlighted the importance of support from the School Education Department, particularly in mobilizing teachers for enumeration work in rural areas, which are often more logistically challenging.

Key topics discussed included manpower rationalization at both the supervisor and enumerator levels, with a focus on appropriately segregating manpower and block divisions according to administrative circles to enhance operational efficiency and convenience.

Nyushotho Nyuthe, DESO and District Nodal Officer for the 8th Economic Census, presented the implementation framework of the census. He informed that Enumeration Blocks (EBs) in rural areas will consist of approximately 150–180 households, based on the Local Governance Directory (LGD). In urban areas, the Urban Frame Survey (UFS) blocks will be used, covering around 120–150 households per block.
