The Jalukie Pumling Nko (JPN) has strongly condemned the recent personal attack on the president of Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation (NZPO) at Jalukie Town, describing the incident as a grave affront to civil order and an attack on the dignity of a respected community leader.
In a press release, JPN chairman Heizieying Mpom and secretary Iketetlung Nring said that such lawless behavior was unacceptable in a democratic society governed by law and condemned the individual(s) or organisation(s) that attempted to take the law into their own hands and instigate fear, tension, and emotional unrest among the peace-loving citizens of the town.
JPN called upon the concerned authorities to immediately initiate legal proceedings against the perpetrators so that justice is served and such incidents are not repeated in the future.
Further, JPN urged all right-thinking citizens to unequivocally condemn the incident and stand united in preserving peace, justice, and mutual respect in society.
Expressing solidarity with the NZPO, the JPN also appealed all responsible stakeholders to uphold peace, unity and respect for lawful processes.
