Senior leaders of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) toured various districts from May 14 to May 17, with the objective of strengthening the party’s organizational structure and engaging with the people.
The delegation was led by NPCC president and Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren Jamir, accompanied by AICC secretary Christopher Tilak, NPCC working presidents C. Apok Jamir and Khriedi Theünuo, along with other senior party members.
The tour began in Mon district with a program at Congress Bhavan, where leaders met with the District Congress Committee (DCC) and party workers, urging unity and collective efforts to grow the party.
During his visit, Supongmeren interacted with representatives from the Konyak Union and Konyak Mothers’ Association. He inspected the Mon Medical College construction site and stressed the importance of timely completion to improve healthcare services.
He also met Officer Commanding of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Lalit Kumar to review ongoing road and infrastructure projects. Supongmeren appreciated the BRO’s efforts and assured full support for enhancing road connectivity.
The NPCC leader further engaged with Mon district officials and met the Anghs and elders of Totok Chingnyu, Totok Chingkho, and Totok Chingha villages. Addressing concerns about connectivity, development, and traditional governance, he assured them of his support.
In Longleng district, Christopher Tilak, C. Apok Jamir, and Khriedi Theünuo met with DCC officials and party workers and encouraged them to stay committed to party values.
The delegation also visited Noklak, where they addressed party workers at Congress Bhavan, emphasizing dedication, unity, and strengthening grassroots organization.
At Tuensang, the team interacted with the DCC and held a session to motivate and guide grassroots party workers. A District-Level Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan (Save Constitution Campaign) and Congress Workers Sammelan were held at Congress Bhavan, with key messages delivered by Christopher Tilak and other senior NPCC leaders.
The tour concluded in Zunheboto, where another District-Level Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan and Workers Sammelan were held at North Point on May 17, attended by S. Supongmeren Jamir and other dignitaries. Supongmeren thanked party workers for their dedication and encouraged them to continue working in unity for a better future.
