Police arrested one person Tuesday at New Field check gate while transporting carcass of 35 dead chicken from Lahorijan (Assam) to Dimapur for sale.
The culprit identified as one Abul Sahid (20) son of Abdul Jalil from Karimganj, resident of Signal Angami, Dimapur was nabbed while attempting to transport dead chickens in a cycle for sale at Signal Bazaar, Dimapur.
According to West Police Station, the veterinary doctor who carried out the postmortem confirmed that the chickens were dead. In this regard, a case has been registered at West police station.
