Two ‘tax collectors’ held

Dimapur police nabbed two DMC lessee “tax collectors” August 12 for collecting illegal parking tax beyond the actual rate.
The two accused identified as Kamal Hussain alias Avi (26) son of M Hussain of Karimkanj, Assam and a temporary resident of Naharbari, Dimapur and Akahoto Sumi (19) son of Khovito Sumi of Homeland village under Niuland Sub-division were found demanding and collecting Rs.550 each from trucks at the G.S.Road while the actual rate notified and printed in the coupon was Rs.20.
A total of Rs.7250 and 11 parking tax receipts were recovered from their possession. The case has been registered at SBN PS.
