Diphupar Village Council (DVC) has clarified its order that had gone viral on social media concerning sealing of two houses at Diphupar village. DVC through its order temporarily sealed two houses till further order on account of non-compliance of the village COVID-19 resolution.
When contacted, DVC chairman Ghuzui Shohe clarified that as per the resolution adopted by the village authority those stranded returnees after undergoing three-day mandatory quarantine at government facilities would have to further remain in village quarantine facility for couple of days.
However, those two returnees were picked up by the families from the facility after three-day quarantine without informing the village authority.
Therefore, he said the village had sealed the two houses for their safety and for the safety of other village residents.
He explained that since those from green and orange zones return along with people from the red zone, extra quarantine days was felt necessary to prevent any possible spread of deadly virus.
