Duncan Basti Council Dimapur (DBCD) has issued advisory for shopkeepers in order to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. A press release by DBCD chairman Yangertoshi and general secretary Rocky Ngullie stated that, wearing of face mask and glove was mandatory for all the shopkeepers and fines would be imposed on those failing to do so. DBCD also advised public to wear mask and maintain social distancing while availing essential commodities. Spitting in public places is strictly prohibited and shopkeepers are advised to keep their surrounding clean as instructed by the council earlier. Failure will invite fine. As per the notice issued earlier to the vegetable vendors by the council, selling of vegetables on the footpath and open spaces is strictly prohibited. Shopkeepers have been advised to open their shops as per the government order from 9 a.m to 2 p.m.
