The District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Dimapur and Wokha held its monthly meeting on March 20 at their respective Deputy Commissioner’s offices.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting in Dimapur was held under the vice-chairmanship & Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojungshi Chang. While welcoming all members, he urged officers to work collaboratively for the district’s overall development. Emphasizing workplace safety, The DC directed all departments to display posters on the implementation of Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act within office premises to enhance awareness.
Among the key agenda items discussed, the board deliberated on the change of nomenclature for certain schools and the registration of societies, which were recommended to the state government for approval.
The meeting also saw the introduction of two new members: B. Yanrunthang Kikon, Superintendent of Jail, Dimapur, and Er. Lhuvoyi, Executive Engineer (E), Power, Dimapur.
Additionally, it was decided that a PowerPoint presentation would be presented by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and the One Stop Centre (Sakhi) in the next meeting.
Wokha DPDB: The monthly Wokha DPDB meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Wokha, also the vice Chairman DPDB Wokha, Vineet Kumar, who welcomed all the members including the new officers posted at Wokha district.
Vineet Kumar expressed appreciation to all the frontline workers, volunteers from theological college, villages, civil society organisations, government departments for their services rendered in mitigating the forest fire that broke out on March 17. He looked forward for such collaborative efforts even in the days that come.
Reviewing the last DPDB minutes, DC Wokha reminded those departments who are yet to send their office land status to expedite the process. Those land without and legal issues and with outright purchase were informed to initiate for acquiring land patta.
Vineet also informed that request has been sent to the Government for purchase of smaller fire tenders. DC Wokha also lauded the medical department for completing 100 days of TB campaign and informed that vision document on banana will be finalized by the next DPDB meeting.
With regard to the ice plant at Doyang constructed in the year 2012, the concern department official informed that the plant requires constant power supply, however due to distance factor, the required power supply could not work out. During May 6, 2013, the plant was outsourced to a society, but it could not materialize. Hence, it was decided for taking up the matter to the CM and CS Nagaland, added the official.
Other agendas of the day included approval for establishment of Joyingo village under Sanis sub-division, improvement of football ground and construction of Rostrum at Bailey Baptist College Wokha, Construction of Bailey bridge at Lanchuju river Riphyim village Wokha district and formation of Advisory Youth Council.
HIV/AIDS scenario of Wokha district was highlighted by an official where he informed that presently there are 395 HIV positive cases registered in ART out of which, 356 are on ART drugs.
SDO (C) gave a brief outline on human rights while Soil and Water Conservation and Land Resource departments gave a power point presentations highlighting on the department ‘s ongoing activities and way forward.
