Wokha District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WDCCI) has expressed dissatisfaction with what it described as “state government’s inaction” over the demand of the business community for “equitable justice in the nomination of district CCI representative to their respective Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).”

In a press release, WDCCI president Vungathung C Murry, general secretary Ponathung Kikon and p/media secretary Thunglamo Odyuo questioned why some of the district chambers including WDCCI were denied nomination by the state government.

The chamber maintained that each district needed fair representation to move forward on a par with other districts in terms of growth and development in every sector.

WDCCI cautioned that if the government failed to address their demand within the stipulated time, the chamber would go ahead with indefinite business shutdown within its jurisdiction.
