Dimapur New Market Ward-19 GB has strongly condemned “illegal practice” of an individual identified as Albert P, who was recently caught impersonating as MBBS doctor and illegally administering medical treatment to unsuspecting patients at a medical hall located within the New Market jurisdiction in Dimapur.

In a press release, New Market GB Khekishe Aye described the incident as “deeply alarming and unacceptable” and asserted that such fraudulent and dangerous acts would not be tolerated within its jurisdiction. The GB warned that any individual or party engaging in similar unlawful activities would be dealt with stringently.

Further, GB said that Albert’s actions constituted a serious criminal offence and posed a grave threat to public health and safety. GB also underlined the potential harm caused to the lives of innocent patients who may have unknowingly sought treatment from the impostor.

Therefore, GB has appealed to the law enforcement authorities and relevant government agencies to initiate prompt and thorough legal action against the accused. “We urge the concerned law enforcement agencies to take the matter seriously and ensure that justice is served swiftly, to deter others from committing such heinous and irresponsible acts,” GB stated.

Expressing deep concern over the incident, GB stressed the need for vigilance in verifying the credentials of individuals offering medical services in the area. GB also called upon the public to report any suspicious or unverified medical practitioners to the appropriate authorities.
