Youth Centre, Dimapur, organized a Career Guidance Training for the 3 batches of students in St. Joseph College, Jakhama.
Rev. Fr. C.P. Anto, the Director, Youth Centre and his team animated the different sessions of the training programme and gave insight into career choice and career planning. Arts and Commerce students of the college were taken to the realm of great avenues in store for them and were given directions as to make right choices according to the individual’s personality, aptitude, resources and likings.
Through SWOT analysis exercise, the youth were enlightened on their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats with regard to selection of a career that would have an impact on the rest of their lives.
“Change of career happens with ongoing education. Openness to change and a challenging outlook towards life should be the basic characteristics of every individual who aims high. For the most part and most people, a career once chosen or adopted remains a life long companion, therefore it is good to make a proper choice of career as it gives you a sense of confidence, happiness, thrill and stability”, said Fr. Anto.
He also spoke of the various factors that contribute to making the right choice, adding a wrong choice made by the youth has been the root cause of unemployment prevalent in Nagaland.
Further, the team presented various career opportunities with types of courses and study options available in the North East, National Level and internationally.
Rev. Dr. Issac Padinjarekkootu, Prinicipal of the college welcomed the team and Luke, senior lecturer proposed vote of thanks.
