Chassir village members who were expelled by Chassir village council has clarified that, at present the village council was handling all VDB funds and without maintaining transparency and audit report since from 2008.
Chassir public organization movement has formed a vigilance committee in order to monitor the misused fund of the village which was approved from the administration and department in-charge and even clarified to the block level on August 11.
A press release issued by Y. Shihto convener, H. Kijingkhum chairman, T. Muzhi secretary, T. Thrunso vice chairman, H. Keozhi joint secretary and M. Showuba treasurer alleged that all job cards numbering 168 were not distributed to the card holders and were kept by village developmental board (VDB) secretary, village council chairman (VCC) and GBs.
The signatories also stated that, `3, 38,755 for NREGS fund was misused by VDB secretary, VCC and GBs, which was meant for 20 days of public wages for 168 No.
The release also said audit for GIA 2008-10, BRGF 2008-10 were still remaining and condemned the press statement published on September 22. The signatories appealed to the administration, tribal and NGO’s to take action against the village council and said it would not be held responsible if any situation arises out of this issue.
