IRCS Peren district observed ‘World Red Cross Day’ on May 8 at DC Conference Hall, Peren, with deputy commissioner, Peren Khrienuo, C. Metha as chief guest.
A large number of Red Cross Officials, Life Members, Youth Red Cross members from Peren Government College and other well-wishers attended the function.
Speaking at the occasion, the chief guest stressed on the need of the district branch to be prepared to tend to local emergencies including injuries, illness, natural and man-made calamities and other emergency cases.
She also encouraged the members to make themselves visible through their humanitarian services for people to notice them and to recognize the existence of the Red Cross
Joint secretary Albert enlightened the members on significance of observing the ‘World Red Cross Day’.
New team of district managing committee in consonant with the new uniform rules for all district branches was also elected.
Newly elected managing committee members for IRCS Peren district branch include Khrienuo, C. Metha, D.C., Peren as president and Iherie Ndang, S.P, Peren as vice-president including ten managing committee members and four medical committee members.
