Director, directorate of agriculture, Rongseninla Aier inaugurated agri-marketing shed at Tuesday market here at Lengrijan on Saturday.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Aier urged upon the council to allot spaces of the shed to women of weaker sections.
She informed that the department will try to help more in constructing sitting areas in the shed and appealed citizens to come forward and help the lower section of the society earn revenue.
Aier further lauded the council for showing their sincerity and dedication towards the department in completing the marketing shed in short notice with an amount of Rs. one lakh fifty thousand.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by LVC member, T.Noksang Imchen, while dedicatory prayer was said by pastor DABA, Rev Maong Lemtur. Welcome speech was delivered by LVC Chairman, N.Meren Imchen and vote of thanks was proposed by GB, U.Meren Jamir.
