Three persons received minor injuries while four vehicles were damaged when a water tanker rammed and collided with five other vehicles after it developed mechanical failure at Tinpati Junction, Kohima, Friday afternoon.
Police said the water carrier tanker (NL-01-A 1953) heading towards GHSS side developed mechanical and hit two vehicles (Santro and Bolero), which were infront and traveling in the same direction. The tanker also rammed into another parked vehicle (Santro) before colliding head on with a Police truck, which in turn hit a Maruti car coming behind the police truck. Three occupants of the small vehicles were injured.
The driver of the water tanker was arrested by police. The mishap led to disruption of traffic for quite sometime.
