Www.nagamusiconline.com , an amalgamation of Naga music buffs, was launched Saturday afternoon by Chairman of Nagaland Khadi and Village Industries Board (NKVIB), Dr. Nicky Kire at Dream Café. The website was developed with a concept of showcasing Naga music and musicians to the world, and bringing Naga musicians to the forefront of the world music arena through it.
The ‘nagamusiconline.com’ features music of different genre, Naga bands and singers, music videos and tracks, information of upcoming music events, etc. Team of the website include Akum Jamir, management head; Moanungsang, marketing head; and Boibo and Yanger, web designers. Launching the website, Dr. Nicky Kire, said that the Naga Music Online was a way of showcasing the Naga’s identity. Stating “with this humble beginning, we are on the right track”, Dr. Nicky Kire expressed hope that the website would continue to grow and promote Naga music in a big way.
Marketing head of Naga Music2 Online, Moanungsang, stated that the website was a platform for all musicians to come together and export their talents to the world. Citing the rich Naga culture and tradition as an advantage, he encouraged young Naga musicians to bring out their originality in music. The programme was attended by Naga musicians and well wishers.
