A mobile check post of the 37 Assam Rifles intercepted approximately four and half kilograms of opium valued at Rs.50 lakh in the international market on October 7. The AR stopped a moving a Bolero Regd No NL 07-4806 on Mon Lungwa road at Tang junction and on inspection discovered the opium neatly packed in a luggage.
According to defence release, all four apprehended individuals, reportedly Myanmarese nationals along with captured opium were handed over to the police in Mon.
