Nagaland to host 16th NCSC

Nagaland will be hosting the 16th National Children Science Congress (NCSC) 2008. Officials from all over India and DST and also from NCSTC-Network have arrived and will be putting up in Dimapur & Kohima from October 11 to14. The officials includes Dr. D. K Pandey, scientist (E), DST, New – Delhi, Dr. A. K Goswami, chairman, NCSTC- Network, Dr. R. N. Ray, national co-ordinator, NCSC-2008, Prof. S.S. Roy, former chairman, NCSTC-Network, Doorjee Thinlay, Sr. scientific officer, Dept. of S & T, Sikkim, Jaideep Baruah, Prof. Nawgang Girls College, Nogaon, Prof. Arup K. Mishra, Prof. Assam Engineering College, Assam and R. S. Raghuvanshi, treasurer, NCSTC-Network.
The National Children’s Science Congress is a forum for the children in the age group 10-17. It had its modest beginning as an experiment in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India decided to make it a National event in 1993 and named National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC).
