A huge quantity of sophisticated weapons and explosives were procured by the NSCN/GPRN from a foreign country, mostly of the world-class A-Series, the latest version of the M16.
The team of about 110 cadres was led by Commander of the Western Division, Naga Army, Brig. Niki Sumi.
NSCN/GPRN military wing in a press release informed the “highly-sophisticated” weapons were procured “chiefly to defend ourselves from the aggressors, standing in the way of Naga unification” and the “NSCN will not rest till Nagas are united”.
Further the release said that the weapons would not be used for “destructive” but only for “defensive purposes”.
