VHHSS gets swimming pool

Annual function 2008- cum- swimming pool inauguration of Vision Home Higher Secondary School (VHHSS), Diphupar has held Tuesday at school campus. The function was graced by Shihokhe Sumi, Deputy Director for Youth Resources and Sports as chief guest.
Addressing the students and school management, Shihokhe Sema said VHHSS had developed successfully into “heaps and bounds” as compared to the condition of the school in the past.
He highlighted that the Vision Home Club (VHC), which manages VHHSS, was a registered and renowned club for sports and games thereby giving various facilities to the youths in many sports activities for the past many years.
The chief guest also pointed out that VHHSS had a good number of enrolments and has been producing good results to the people every year. Basing on all the merits, Shihokhe said, the department of Youth Resources and Sports recommended for the construction of a swimming pool in the school compound.
He expressed gratitude to the government of India, ministry of home affairs and the North Eastern Council for sponsoring the construction of swimming pool.
Deputy Director said the department could even engage coach from Sports Authority of India (SAI) to teach swimming temporarily in the initial stage.
Shihokhe expressed hope that VHC would produce promising sports persons especially in swimming in near future. Earlier, the chief guest inaugurated the swimming pool after dedicatory prayer by Rev P. Anung, Pastor of ABCD.
Former DGP for Prisons & Home Guards, N. Walling who also spoke in the function appreciated and thanked the school authority and faculty for the holistic approach method practiced in the school to develop the students. He particularly appreciated chairman of the school, K. Chuba Jamir for rendering his efforts for the benefit of the students.
While delivering a word of appreciation, K. Chuba Jamir narrated on how God’s gracious saving act made him to decide to sacrifice his time for the youths and students. He appreciated the government officials, village chairman, DBs, Churches, and others for their valuable service rendered for the welfare of the school.
The programme also included welcome speech by Yanger Imchen, Principal of the school, presentation of various reports, songs and dances, awarding of prizes.
