Plea to restore electricity

Jalukie Valley Youth Organisation (JVYO) has appealed power department to restore 63 kva 11/0.4 kv and kva 11/0.4 kv transformers at ward No. 8 and 9. Organisation general secretary Ahiabe Chuilo has informed that due to “load-shedding, rampant use of electric heaters” and “power theft” during night time from distribution lines, people of Jalukie valley have been facing untold hardships. In this connection, the organisation has appealed the public to stop such activities so that general public would not face inconveniences. In view of the forthcoming final examination for academic session, JVYO has appealed power department to supply power to Jalukie valley as majority of the people of the rural area depended mainly on power supply and could hardly afford to buy kerosene or candle due to sky-high prices.
JVYO also informed general public that surprise checking would be conducted from time to time within its jurisdiction. Genral secretary also stated that any individual or group caught in power theft would be penalized as per the provision of Indian Electricity Act.
Further, with a view to beautify the town and to prevent robbery within its jurisdictions, JVYO has requested all shop owners to white-wash their respective shops and to light a bulb at night.
