Nagaland Art Exhibition at Kohima

The 23rd Nagaland State Art Exhibition will begin Tuesday at Kohima and would continue till December 7 coinciding with the Nagaland Hornbill Festival. Altogether 78 works by various artists from different parts of the state would be displayed during the Exhibition, a UNI report said. Official sources said that Nagaland commissioner and secretary, Temjen Toy would inaugurate the Art Exhibition. Along with the State Art Exhibition, a craftsmen’s workshop would also be organised at Kisama from Tuesday, where about 40 craftsmen from all over the state would demonstrate and exhibit their works. Both the art exhibition and workshop are being organised simultaneously by the state department of arts and culture as part of the Hornbill Festival, 2008 and also to mark the ‘’Year of Capacity Building’’, in the field of creative arts, the sources added.
