NSTG submits memo to central government

Nagaland Small Tea Growers’ Association (NSTG) office bearers March 3 met union additional secretary for commerce and industries, Chowdary at New Delhi and submitted a memorandum for neglecting Nagaland Small Tea Growers’ in every aspect.
The union additional secretary taking serious note has assured for positive action, a joint statement issued by NSTG president, D Hukiye Kibami and general secretary, I Imi Yaden stated.
The statement asserted that same memorandum was also submitted to union minister of commerce and industry, minister of DoNER and union director, commerce and industry.
The release stated that union additional secretary directed the office bearers to meet chairman and director Tea board of India, Kolkata to sort out the Naga tea growers’ grievances.
As directed NSTG in the course of discussion with Tea Board of India on March 4 deliberated on the smooth functioning and improvement of tea gardens in Nagaland, the release stated.
Further, it stated that parties worked out modalities to co-ordinate and cross inspect and identify genuine gardens and hold seminars for technical guidance to Naga tea growers stipulated to be completed by April 2009.
Meanwhile, the association has directed all district tea growers office bearers and individuals to submit their registration, name of tea garden and proprietors to All Nagaland Small Tea Growers’ head office in Dimapur before March 15 at high ridge, Darogapathar, 2 ½ mile, Dimapur, next to MLA K.Hollohon’s residence and contact 9856506240 and 9862126949 for queries.
