NPCC seeks ECI intervention

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has said that Toulazou Tenyimi village under 3-Dimapur-III Assembly Segment had imposed “strict rule” in the village to support the ruling party in the last Lok Sabha election and by-election for Dimapur-III A/C.
In a letter addressed to Election Commission of India (ECI), NPCC vice president (admn), Zacilho Vadeo said imposition of such rule indicated village had restricted their votes only in favour NPF candidates including CM Chang for Lok Sabha and Azheto for by-election.
Asserting that such practice was totally against the democratic means of election and also against the election model code of conduct, PCC urged the commission to immediately intervene into the matter by canceling all the votes cast and conduct re-polls in a free and fair manner to uphold democratic principal of the constitution.

which was appended with the letter, mentioned that village council keeping in mind the interest of the public on March 7 and April 4 reaffirmed to support “ruling party” for the “ensuing” MP and by-election of Dimapur-III to expedite village recognition through “this government.”
TTVC’s declaration also stated that council decided to check its members and take action if any individual go against its decision for their own selfish interest.
The declaration stated some vested individual went against its decision and hence expelled five members from the village, with their belongings, on or before May 25.
Council declaration also stated that any member not abiding by its resolution and decision would be held responsible and that village council would initiate further course of action.
