District planning office Mkg shifted
DIMAPUR: District Planning Office, Mokokchung has been shifted to the newly constructed office building near D.C’s Office, opposite assistant election office Mokokchung, stated an official bulletin. Assistant development commissioner, district planning machinery cell, Mokokchung, S. Bendangtoshi Longkumer stated the office would function in the new building with effect from May 29.
DC Mkg on recognition of new village
DIMAPUR: Kangtsung Yimsen village under Tuli sub- division of Mokokchung district would be applying for recognition under the state government of Nagaland. According to an official bulletin, objection, if any, regarding recognition of the said village have been requested to be submitted in written within 30 days from the date of publication of this notification to the deputy commissioners office, Mokokchung. Otherwise, the notification stated, the said new village would be recognized and registered under the procedure laid down. Area of the land – 1,031 Hacts, boundaries –North (Assam), East (Anaki Yimsen), South (Kangtsung) and West (Wameken).
Medziphema flays killing
DIMAPUR: Medziphema Town Council (MTC), NGOs, GBs and student leaders of Medziphema have condemned the brutal killing of Lt. Kevingulie Yiese of Medziphema town by unidentified gunmen and stated that such killings among Nagas were unexpected and undesirable. The various organizations further expressed condolence to the bereaved family.
Notice for land registration
DIMAPUR: Lhousito Khro, Seithekema Khenu Kruta Kehou (SKKK) President in a press note has requested all concerned to come for fresh land registration and renewal of land already purchased commencing w.e.f. June 1 to 30 at Seithekema ‘C’ village. SKKK office would remain open on all week days except Sundays from 9 am. to 2 pm.

Global Prayer Day
Kohima: The Nagaland Baptist Intercession Network will observe Global Day of Prayer on May 31 at 3 pm at Chakhesang Baptist Church Kitsubozou. The speaker for the programme will be Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo, pastor, Koinonia Baptist Church. Citizens of Kohima, irrespective of denomination, have been requested to attend the programme.
GPRN/NSCN inducts
DIMAPUR: Deputy Kilonser, MIP, GPRN/NSCN, P. Tikhak, stated in a press release that the office of president has inducted Kh. Starson, presently serving as Central Council Member (CCM), into the council of kilonser. It further stated he has been inducted as cabinet kilonser with the portfolio of revenue and trade & commerce for the state of Manipur.
KLRSU 1st assembly held
DIMAPUR: The first assembly of KLRSU for 2009-10 was held at Bhandari guest house on May 10 with the house unanimously adapting to change the nomenclature of Lotha Lower Range Students’ Union to Kyong Lower Range Students’ Union. In a press note by Mhomo Kikon, general secretary (KLRSU), the union has further extended felicitation to all the successful HLSC and HSSLC candidates 2009.
Resolution of G.B’s Union Purana Bazaar
DIMAPUR: As per the resolution of the general meeting of the G.B’s Union of Purana Bazaar held on May 26, a survey was carried out and all illegal construction of tea stall and stockist of bricks were removed on May 27 at ISBT junction, N.H. 39. In a press release issued by Niuto Awomi, Chairman, G.B’s Union Purana Bazaar, all persons have been informed by the union to clear the site before May 29 failing which, it would take necessary action. Futher, it sought co-operation from the citizens for the benefit of all.
