Drawing the attention of minister for higher education and expressing grievances over the irregularity of lecturer in Mount Tity College, Wokha, Mount Tiyi College Students Union (MTCSU) has stated that Muluvoyi Kotso, lecturer in department of political science hardly took any classes and paid no interest for students’ welfare.
MTCSU in a letter addressed to minister for higher education by its general secretary, Nzanthung Tungoe; assistant general secretary, Meribemo Shitiri; fianance secretary, Thungreni Tsopoe and games and sports secretary, Victor Tsanglao stated the lecturer had attended only eleven days of his duty till date, ever since the college opened on February 5, 2009.
The signatories pointed out that prolonged absence of the lecturer from assigned duties was causing untold hardship to students’ community and was adversely affecting the academic pursuit of the college.
MTCSU also stated that college authority had repeatedly lodged complaint to higher authority but no action had been taken in this regard. Taking all this into account the signatories, urged the minister responsible to take appropriate action against the “erring lecture as per the service rule” for greater interest of the students.
