Alumni of Fazl Ali College (FAC) Friday visited the college under the banner ‘Alumni visits Alma Mater’. The visit by Alumni is a matter of significance as the college is all set to celebrate its Golden Jubilee in last part of the year.
With nostalgic feelings, former students admired various developments and changes that college underwent and also reminisced how they attended the classes after going through the classrooms.
Welcoming the alumni, Principal of the college Kuholi Chishi thanked the alumni for their visit and expressed her wish that such meetings were held often. She sought the help of alumni during the celebration of the college jubilee.
She also disclosed that schedule for jubilee celebration have been postponed to the later part of October or first week of November from September for the convenience for all to attend the celebration taking into account the busy schedule for academics in the month of September.
It is to be noted that college’s foundation day is on 8th September.
During the discussion, Lecturer Akok Walling of English Department spoke about the students. He said the college had learned and experienced teachers making it one of the best government colleges in the state. He added that support from the community was tremendous through which many things have changed for the better in the college. Describing about the goodness of the college, he said the college boasts of being the only college in the state having functional English as an optional subject besides having a fully functional language lab. He even disclosed that university research scholars often visited the college for research work as the college had all the facilities.
Speaking on behalf of alumni, Sosangmeren, Editor of Ao Milen said teachers in the college were very dedicated and hardworking. Showering praises upon the college he called upon all to continue their effort in making the college the best. The editor however lamented on the lack of infrastructure development and added that lots of effort should be put on for its development. Sosangmeren, who is also the President of FAC Alumni, said that there were plans for alumni get together before the celebration of the jubilee.
