Clarification on Dikhu project

Wanching Village Council (WVC) referring to news item on ‘YVC on Dikhu project’ has stated that meeting between YVC and WVC was not held as reported earlier. The WVC stated the six villages under Longleng district namely Yongnyah, Namsang, Kangching, Tamlu, Nian and Tangha had submitted a complain to Power Minister and Commissioner and secretary for stoppage of Dikhu Project. In this connection Chairman of Coordination Committee, Dihku power project, A Shangkem Konyak and member Longshing Konyak and few personnel visited Yongnyah village, Kangching village and Namsang village under Longleng district asking them to withdraw the complaint they had earlier submitted to the government for stoppage of Dikhu project. The WVC clarified that the meeting was conducted between the Coordination committee and the village and M Kongmong and B S Nganlang were never present at the meeting. WVC further stated that the village fully supported the government for setting up Dikhu project.
