IRCS Peren branch general meet held

The first general meeting of IRCS Peren district branch was held on April 29 at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren with impressive turnout of district managing committee members, life members and MC members from IRCS Nagaland state branch led by general secretary, Zakie Kire.
Zakie explained and clarified on the new uniform rules of IRCS under which all district branch of the IRCS were to be restructured and exhorted the district branch members on the importance to follow all necessary procedures pertaining to election  and handing and taking-over of office by a new team. He also highlighted on the origin of the Red Cross movement founded by Sir Henry Dunant on June 24, 1859, on the uniqueness of the Red Cross symbol and its misuse while appealing to all concerned to stop misusing the sacred symbol. He further appraised the house of the initiatives taken by state branch for conduct of medical camp at Nsong and first aid training camp for Youth Red Cross (YRC) volunteers.
Deputy commissioner Peren and chairman IRCS Peren, Khrienuo, C. Metha welcomed the team and briefed the meeting’s objective. SP Peren, Iherie Ndang, managing committee member and K. Francis Zeliang, Honarary secretary, IRCS Peren district branch also shared their viewpoints at the meeting.
The meeting decided to observe World Red Cross Day on May 8, 11 am at DC Peren Conference Hall, elect new team of managing committee members, facilitate the election of the chairman, and treasurer from among themselves and also to facilitate appointment of a secretary by the branch executive committee. Under the new uniform rules, deputy commissioner will be the president of IRCS district branch who will nominate a vice-president. All patrons, life members and life associate members of IRCS Peren district branch have been requested to attend the function.
