Property worth crores of rupees burnt at Kiphire

Another major fire broke out in the heart of Kiphire town believed to have been caused by a short circuit at around 12.45am Saturday.
Five commercial building belonging to R.L Akumba ex MLA and the godown of a grocery shop was reduced to ashes in the fire which lasted for about two hours.
Risking their lives, brave citizens, paramilitary, DEF Kiphire, IRCS members, district administration and well-wishers managed to control the fire from spreading further to nearby buildings. Except minor burns, there have been no major causalities.
It may be mentioned that this is the third major fire incident to have occurred in Kiphire in a span of few month.
