The local taxi driver union Tuensang on Saturday organized a mass social work along NH-155 to show their resentment on the negligence of the authority in-charge to repair NH-155 connecting Tuensang and Mokokchung. District administration, NAP Sector Council, commandant 3rd NAP, SP DEF Tuensang, PWD (R&B) Tuensang division, chamber of commerce, truck owner union, Chang students Union 3rd NAP sector and four major tribes of Chang, Yimchungru, Sangtam and Khiamniungan together with the union cleared the road and filled up potholes despite unfavorable weather conditions. President of local taxi drivers union Tuensang, H. Chumi has expressed gratitude those who collaborated with the union during the social work. The union also urged the people and various social organizations, apex bodies in Tuensang to raise their voices over the issue until the demand was fulfilled by the government. Seeing the appalling road condition, the citizens have also questioned the failure of the government to view the genuine demand of people from remote area. It may be mentioned here that the denizens of Tuensang has repeatedly appealed to the authority in-charge to provide better road connectivity along NH-155, but to no avail. However, hoping their request would be materialized, the denizens of Tuensang have once again reiterated their demand for immediate improvement of the deplorable road condition in the interest of the common people. NH-155 was taken over by NPWD since 2007.
