Revised pork rates for Dimapur
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has revised rate of pork wholesale and retail rates with immediate effect. The wholesale rate would be `100/kg, `135/kg for retail dressed and cut meat, and head, hoof and intestine rate at `125/kg. Informing this in a release, Er K. Keditsu, chief advisor DMC has directed all butchers to hang their weighing scales at least one foot above the butcher’s table and to provide quality meat to customers. DMC has informed that no increase in price would be allowed without being substantiated by genuine documents and that failing to comply with the order would lead to taking appropriate action against the defaulter.
Muslim students’ felicitation programme
DIMAPUR: The annual Nagaland Muslim students’ felicitation programme organized by Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) would be held on June 26, from 2pm at Holy Cross School Hall, Dimapur. Governor of Nagaland Nikhil Kumar would be the chief guest, Azheto Zhimomi MLA and advisor Sericulture and Cooperation government of Nagaland as guest of honor and Sayeedullah Nonghrum MLA and political secretary to chief minister of Meghalaya as special guest. Commissioner home and CEC government of Nagaland J. Alam and educationist Mahbabul Haque chairman of Education, Research and Development Foundation Guwahati would be the special invitees. MCD has requested all students who have submitted their documents to report at the venue by 1:30pm. Further a magazine depicting the activities of MCD would be released by the chief guest during the programme.
Enrolment for biometrics in Kohima
DIMAPUR: Biometrics will start for residents of Ward-0001 (High School) under Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Kohima, from June 27 to 29, 7am and of Botsa village under Chiephobozou sub – division from June 28. Residents have been informed to furnish information by producing driving license card, PAN card and passport number, if available. Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Bei-u Angami, informed that list of ‘Usual Residents’ would thereafter be compiled and displayed in the respective village/ward for the residents to check and verify its correctness. Residents have also been requested to submit NPR acknowledgement slips issued during 1st phase of Census and NPR exercise conducted during June – July 2010.
ATMA Mon conducts Front Line Demonstration
DIMAPUR: ATMA Mon officials led by Joakting, (DPD), Shurhozenuo, Vesekho and Kika (BTM) conducted a Front Line Demonstration (FLD) program on June 3. Front Line Demonstratio was held on rice bean and green manuring technology using Dhaincha (Sesbania aculeata) on growth and yield of agricultural crops at Tanhai village. The resource person for the day was Shoyan Konyak, BTT convener Wakching Block Mon. The program was attended by around 30 farmers from four villages. Another Front Line Demonstration (FLD) on half moon terracing technology in banana cultivation was conducted with Shurhozenuo, BTM Wakching Block as the resource person on June 4 at Wakching Block, Mon. 30 farmers from four villages attended the program and improved soyabean seeds (JS-335) were distributed to the farmers at the end of the program.
BA results declared: Nagaland University has declared the result of BA 1st, 2nd and 3rd year (honours and general). Otova Swu assistant registrar (Exams) informed that result could be downloaded from the university website at www.nagauniv.org.in.
Tuensang DPDB meeting: District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Tuensang, meeting for the month of July for Tuensang district has scheduled on July 15, 11am at the conference hall of deputy commissioner. All district planning and development board members/ HODs Tuensang district have been requested to attend the meeting.
Peren DPDB meeting: Chairman DPDB, Peren has informed that District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Peren meeting for the month of June would be held on June 29, 11am at the conference hall of deputy commissioner. All DPDB members of Peren district have been requested to attend the meeting.
STSU 2nd sitting: Sungro Town Students’ Union (STSU) has convened its 2nd sitting on July 3 at its office, at Sungro. Information secretary STSU has requested all executives to attend the sitting, failing which a fine of Rs.300 would be imposed strictly as per the union rules and regulations adopted during 1st executive meeting.
CAKU executive meeting: Chakhro Angami Kuda Union (CAKU) has convened an executive meeting on June 30, 4pm at union office, Phevima village. All office bearers, ex-members, advisors, leaders, GBs, women and youth have been requested to attend the meeting.
ANPSTA Wokha unit general meeting: All Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers Association (ANPSTA) Wokha unit has convened a general meeting cum new office bearer election on June 28, 10am at Pinewood school Wokha. All PSTE/B.ED pre-service trained members have been requested to attend the meeting. Further the association has informed all the new members to bring along a registration fee of Rs.350 and old members to submit a membership fee of Rs.100.

Cooperative society 21st annual general meeting: Cooperative society would be holding its 21st annual general meeting (7th triennial general meeting) on June 26, 10am at State Bank of India, Dimapur branch premises. Training for beneficiaries under livestock and poultry development: Training for beneficiaries under Livestock and Poultry Development Programme and trainees from mother unit under Rural Backyard Poultry Development Programme 2010-11 was held at DVO office, Wokha on June 23. Dr. Andrew Patton, DVO Wokha highlighted the nature of the programme and the resource persons were Dr. Mhonlumi, farm manager CRC; Dr. Lhuveta VAS (G) Wokha and Dr. Chonbenthung, SMS (ATMA). The training was imparted on management, feeding and disease control of poultry, pigs and goats followed by a practical exposure trip to the Base Piggery farm and Poultry farm, Wokha.

Ornamental tree saplings distribution: Department of Silviculture Kohima has informed that free distribution of seedlings, saplings to the public for the current year are available. Saplings include-ornamental, economic, timber and fruit tree species would be available at Silviculture nurseries in Kohima, Rangapahar (Zoological Park), Signal point (near urban police station) and Tuli Namsa, Naginimora. NMDA meeting: NMDA has convened a meeting with chemist from northeast on June 26, 11am at Naithu resort. Chief minister Niephiu Rio would be the chief guest.
APO directive for June 25 social work: Kohima municipal Council (KMC) would be organizing mass social work in collaboration with the state government in Kohima town on June 25. Angami Public Organization (APO) has directed all Angami frontal organizations, AMK, AYO, ASU, AGOK, ASA and all range organizations to participate in the drive. APO also appealed to all citizens of Kohima to extend cooperation to keep Kohima town clean.
Ministry of DoNER to conduct awareness programme: One-day awareness programme on “Opportunities in plastics Industries for unemployed youth of North Eastern Region for self employment” would be conducted at the Infinity Hall, Longkumer Kilem Mokokchung on June 27,11 a.m. Resource persons include members from CIPET Imphal and district Industries centre Mokokchung. The awareness programme is sponsored by the ministry of DoNER. YLDS office building to be inaugurated: Office building of Yimsean Livelihood Development Society (YLDS) at 2½ Mile, Darogapathar, Dimapur would be inaugurated on June 30, at 4 p.m. Commissioner & Secretary Co-operation, Government of Nagaland, will grace the inaugural function as the chief guest.
YBC to celebrate silver anniversary: Yimchungru Baptist Church, (YBC) women society and youth department of 3rd NAP Sector Tuensang would be observing its silver jubilee on July 2 and 3 on the theme “Christ the living Church” with Akhang,executive secretary YBBA, L. Shojila, women secretary YBBA and H.Tokiu, youth secretary YBBA as resource persons. Planning committee has extended invitation to all former members from three departments and all Yimchungru citizens of 3rd NAP sector serving outside to attend in the celebration.
NPF Seyochung welcomes: The 59 A/C Seyochung- Sitimi NPF party has welcomed Setsapa Hd. GB, Athrise chairman village council and Thritsase secretary village council of old Monger village to the NPF party. According to NPF party, the GB and village council members resigned from different political parties and joined the NPF to extend support under the leadership of C. Kipili Sangtam chairman NSMDC & MLA. The new members also expressed satisfaction over development activities being initiated in their constituency by present MLA under the aegis of NPF led DAN Government and assured to serve Kipili Sangtam with dedication in the forthcoming general election.
