NCC cadets awarded Sahara scholarship

Sahara scholarship 2009 and 2010 was awarded to four NCC cadets of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama recently.
Senior Under Officer (SUO) L. Esther Sumi and Sergeant (Sgt) Tiawapangla received the scholarship for the year 2009 on April and Sergeant (Sgt) Kedovino Kar and Corporal (Cpl) Ajano Bei-o received the scholarship for the year 2010 on the month of May for their excellence in scholastic aspect and outstanding performance in NCC training activities.
Each of them was awarded a cash of `12,000 along with a certificate.
It may be mentioned that they are the only cadets from Nagaland to have received the prestigious scholarship for the year 2009 and 2010.
This scholarship is sponsored by Sahara Company and is given to 380 NCC cadets in the country on the basis of merits in both academic and NCC training activities.
Corporal Nchumbeni Ngullie also of Joseph’s College, Jakhama received the best cadet award and cash `3,500 at senior wing level in the state which was sponsored by NCC cadets welfare society.
Meanwhile, the management and staff of the college congratulated the four cadets and thanked the 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NNC Kohima for their unceasing support and recognition.
