‘The Heritage’ ready to serve Thai food

Saying the Thai greeting for hello – Sawadee khrap (sometimes spelled sawasdee), The Heritage, located at Old DC’s Bungalow, near Raj Bhavan launched a new menu – Thai cuisine on Friday. Officially launching before a host of media persons, Theja Meru, director, The Heritage said Thai food items available at The Heritage are “Khao Pud Poo” (Fried rice with prawn and egg), “Kaeng Leang Yod Ma Praw Ona Krab Khoong” (South curry soap with young bamboo shoot with shrimp), “Kang Oam Mara” (Bitter melon and catfish in curry), “Kang Kien Warn Kai” (Thai chicken green curry) and Papaya fruit carving. Starting from Friday, Thai cuisine will be available at The Heritage, said Theja where the management would be introducing a buffet system, for starters, for a minimum of 10 heads and above at `350 each. Earlier Theja Meru disclosed, four Naga youth – Amenla Tzudir, Vilakuonuo Rupreo, Akala Jamir and Anuo Belho who completed their training at UFM Cooking & Baking School Bangkok, Thailand have been roped in with The Heritage. The youth who received trained in Thailand was sponsored by the Chief Minister’s Corpus Fund (CMCF). Theja also expressed gratitude to chief minister, Neiphiu Rio for demonstrating his kindness in making the dreams of the four aspiring chefs a reality. Amenla Tzudir and Vilakuonuo Rupreo are employed at The Heritage, while Anuo Belho is at Ozone Café, Kohima and Akala Jamir would be soon starting a private enterprise soon. The Heritage also plans to start a Thai snack outlet soon and disclosed that talks are on with Thai chefs from UFM Cooking & Baking School Bangkok, Thailand to host a Thai Food Festival in Kohima.
