Seized items destroyed in Mkg, Longleng

A total of 2364 bottles of Indian Made foreign Liquor (IMFL) were destroyed in the premises of district & session judge court, Mokokchung on July 9. The seizure was made in the district under Nagaland Total Prohibition Act by law enforcing agencies in the past three months. According to an official bulletin, the destruction was carried out by Marlemba, Public Prosecutor (PP) as Convenor of the destruction committee and Imtimar, prosecution assistant (Sub Inspector) as member with the help of police personnel. The destruction order was passed by Y. Maongkaba, additional district & session judge, Mokokchung. Meanwhile, in a routine exercise, the court of civil judge/judicial magistrate first class Longleng in support of district administration and civil societies PSC, Phomla Hoichem, Longleng town council destroyed the seized items under NLTP Act and DC Act kept at ‘Malkhana’ Longleng court on July 5. A press release issued by O.P. Phom, judicial magistrate first class Longleng stated the destroyed items include 6000 packets of gutkha, 1436 pieces of S.P. (Cap), 3 roles of opium, 293 bottles of Rum and 31 bottles of beer.
